About
Hi, I’m Danni, a music therapist who is passionate about anti-oppressive work. I have a deep appreciation for music and its ability to create positive change, which led me to do a master’s degree in music therapy.
Currently, I am completing my Ph.D. in the field, focusing my research on addressing systematic oppression and empowering marginalised communities through music therapy.
My approach in my practice is person-centred, meaning that I tailor my interventions to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. I also promote diversity and inclusivity by incorporating a range of cultural and musical traditions into my practice. It is my mission to create a safe, empowering, and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings. I aim to effect change that goes beyond individual therapy sessions, ultimately, my goal is to contribute to a larger movement of social justice and create a more equitable society through my work as a therapist and researcher.
Nurture your mental well-being through an empowering, person-centred approach to best fit your needs.
As part of my ongoing education, I have the following certifications:
- BMus Education (Jazz) (PGCE) (UCT)
- MMus Music Therapy (UP) HPCSA Registered
- Ph.D. Candidate (UP)
